Kaddi’s Story
From chasing a lower scale weight and battling evening food noise to reaching every goal she set, progressing in CrossFit and signing up for a half marathon.
I came to Harriet in April 2025 carrying 16 years of diet culture. Since I was about 13, I'd been trapped in diet cycles, moving from one system to the next every 3 months as they worked but they didn’t stick. The systems promised to be my new “lifestyle” change, but the problem was that none of them was actually built for my life, my routine, or my body. I’d have an off weekend and then struggle to catch up, or work got busy or I ate emotionally and gave up after a week of no success! The yo-yo pattern I was in felt deep rooted and soul destroying, almost like it was my personality now, to be a constant failure. I came to Harriet in floods of tears about 6 months before my wedding…. AFTER I’d bought my wedding dress.
Previously, when progress stalled for months, I'd raise my concerns with other coaches or support desks for apps and be told that everything I was doing was right, to keep knuckling down, drink more water, and have very little guidance on what my body was going through, in terms of what I’d eaten that week, how I’d move or my hormone cycle. I joined Harriet first on a 6 week sprint, where we made sure that my routine, my life, stayed as I needed it to and we worked around it. I think within that first sprint I lost 6kgs. By the time my wedding came around, that week I had to message Harriet that we needed to up my food as I was worried my dress would be too big! Something I had NEVER planned for.
What I’ve loved and truly appreciate from Harriet, is how she holds you up through the messy bits. I wobble (a lot), to myself every day and probably to Harriet at least once a week! Every binge episode I have, every bad mood and every time I question if I’m doing the right thing, she’s been the most patient person, talked to me to remind me what my body is doing and most importantly has validated that I am improving every day even if I can’t see it. She picks you up without judgment, gives practical advice that reassures and works, and teaches that consistency is about showing up.
I'm 14kg down now, from 90kg to 76kg over 18 months. This is the longest period I've kept weight off in my adult life. I'm running three times a week, a year ago I couldn't run for three minutes, now my longest run was hitting ten miles. I'm lifting heavy weights (175kg leg press!) and have a very active life that is now very normal for me! I'm closer to being the person I want to be for the rest of my life more than I've ever been and I’ve never been so grateful to someone so utterly amazing. You have to put the work in, the results don’t just appear, but Harriet will support you every step of the way.
I have been working with Harriet for almost three years, and I must say that throughout this time I have learnt so much from her.
Before I decided to work with a nutrition coach, I thought it would be a limited phase where you “learn” what and how to eat and then continue on your own. How wrong I was!
When I started working with Harriet, I was at a point where I simply didn’t feel good about myself. I was approaching 40, gaining weight and training at the gym four times a week in a HIIT class, but I wasn’t getting enough steps in during the day. I was barely eating, often skipping dinner in the evening, yet I was continuing to gain weight and size.
I love buying clothes, but I had started to hate it when I needed to buy bigger sizes, and I hated what I saw in the mirror.
I was seeing reels on social media of people talking about macros, protein, tracking, working out, body recomposition and so on, but I couldn’t understand any of it on my own. I eventually realised that my lack of eating, combined with making the wrong food choices when I did eat, had contributed to where I was.
I came across Harriet’s page and started following her. I loved the way she explained things and how simple she made everything look. I realised that nutrition coaching should be a tailor-made programme built around my everyday life, rather than a one-size-fits-all plan for every client. I could see that Harriet was able to make things work around your individual lifestyle.
I reached out to her, and almost three years later, I am still working with her!
Harriet gradually guides you towards a healthier lifestyle. She teaches you how to start tracking your food, what macros are and why it is important to get close to, or hit, your targets. She explains which choices within different food groups work better than others, the importance of including fibre in your daily intake, how to manage blood sugar levels, and why whole foods are generally a better choice than highly processed foods.
She patiently guides you week after week and check-in after check-in, explaining how you should adapt things and what might work better after reviewing your check-in form. She teaches you the importance of not unnecessarily restricting foods from your diet or cutting out entire food groups.
She gradually introduces daily step targets and explains the meaning of being in a deficit, maintenance and building phases. When there is a special occasion, such as a wedding, Christmas, or a family holiday abroad, she works specifically towards that event so that you can enjoy yourself without feeling guilty or losing the progress you have made.
Three years later, I have to say that although I am only around 6 kg lighter than when I started, I feel so much better.
I am more active. I understand different food groups and what specific foods are rich in. I know how I need to balance my day. I have recomposed my body, dropped inches and gone down clothing sizes. I now feel the need to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner rather than skip meals. I feel stronger and, most importantly, much more comfortable around events where food is involved.
All of this is thanks to Harriet, her patience and her dedication to each of her clients.
Even though we are miles apart and have never actually met face-to-face, she still works around a tailor-made programme specifically for me. She patiently explains everything and shares her plans for where we can take the programme over the coming months.
I would highly recommend Harriet to anyone who leads a busy lifestyle, to parents, or to anybody who simply has no idea where to start or what it all means.
She takes you through everything slowly, allowing you to understand the importance of every decision, ingredient and target she suggests. She never makes you feel overwhelmed, and she teaches you the “why” behind what you are doing.
I absolutely do not regret choosing Harriet from all the nutrition coaches I was following on social media at the time. In fact, almost three years later, I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions I made for myself.
✅ Ordering what you actually want without turning dinner into a moral crisis
✅ Not weighing yourself after a meal out to see how much “damage” you’ve done
✅ Wearing the outfit you used to avoid
✅ Having cake and moving on with your life
✅ Realising you haven’t thought about food for the last three hours
✅ Knowing exactly what to do after a chaotic week
Those wins count too!
Whether you need help understanding why you keep getting stuck, or you’re ready for ongoing support to lose the weight and keep it off, I’ll help you find the right place to start.
